And that’s good news for you.

My blog writing service falls into one of two camps:

  1. Short and sweet blogs of around 800 words. These include research and facts and either focus on an area your business covers or a related area.
  2. Longer, more detailed blogs / articles. These include in-depth research, interviews and opinion. They’re focused on thought leadership and discussion.

How does my blogging service work?

You’ll be relieved to hear I’m flexible in the way I work, so tell me what you want and I’ll get going for you. Here’s my guideline process:

Set-up call.

We’ll spend some time getting to know each other. It’s really important that I understand your business and audience before I start writing for you. You’ll probably find I spend lots of time asking you questions you’d never thought you’d hear. I’ll give you a couple of briefing forms to complete – we’ll talk through this together.

Content planning.

Lots of my clients have already planned out their content plans – so in this case all I do is pick up the list and get writing. But I’ll also collaborate with you to create a plan for your blogs if you’d find that helpful. I can also help you repurpose existing content to use as future blog material.

Schedule and write.

We’ll agree a schedule to work to and then I’ll get going. I’ll always deliver your blog to you ahead of your planned publish date so you have time to read through, check you’re happy with it and request any edits.

Publish!

You publish your blog and keep me in the loop. I love sharing the posts I’ve written for my clients and keeping up with the comments and feedback you get. Keep me updated on the performance metrics for your blogs and I’ll be able to take this into account for future posts.

Blogging Questions

Are your blogs SEO optimised?

Absolutely. I’ll make sure your blog packs an SEO punch for you. With in-line links to authoritative external sites and your own website, keyword-rich headings and natural, uncomplicated writing that humans like to read.

How long does a blog take to write?

I allow a 2-week turnaround from brief to first stage copy. For longer blogs and articles, I may need more time, especially if I’m interviewing experts – they’re notoriously difficult to pin down!

Will you edit a blog I’ve written?

Yes of course. You can find out more about this on my copyediting page.

How will you write in a way that sounds like me?

In the initial briefing call, I’ll ask you to complete a tone of voice briefing template which helps me understand more about your brand and how you “sound”. I use this information to write in your “voice”.

What sort of subjects do you blog about?

I enjoy blogging about management subjects, the world of work and employment. I’m also partial to blogging about parenting, property, home improvements and interiors.

Will you blog on any subject?

No. There are some subjects I’m not happy to write for and some subjects that I’m not qualified to write for. You can find out more about my exclusions here.

What if I don’t like the blog you’ve written?

Houston we have a problem! If you’re not keen on the work I’ve done for you, tell me straightaway. Be as specific as possible. Have I used words you hate? Is the style too formal? Is something untrue? It’s possible that something went wrong at the briefing stage, in which case a few tweaks will get us back on track.

I allow for unlimited edits for initial blogs, and then one round of edits for all subsequent blogs.

How much do your blogs cost?

Each blog is different, so I will quote on a case-by-case basis. However, to give you an idea of the costs involved, you can expect a beautifully written blog to cost around £250 if it is a shorter (600-800 words) blog. I charge more for longer, more in-depth blogs – upwards of £350, depending on the brief.

I base my content-planning fees on my day rate. I quote for repurposing existing content on a case-by-case basis; it’s normally cheaper than writing a blog from scratch.

Can you book me in?

Yes! Get in touch with me and we’ll get started!
